Software Installation
Pre-requisite: Install Microsoft Windows 2003 and SQL 2005
Step 1 - Installation
1. Load eBanyan application CD in CD drive OR download files to your local drive 2. Double click on setup.exe to install the application. 3. Go to Start > Program > eBanyan Electronic Commerce > eBanyan Site Installation Software 4. Select local drive, create folder (in root directory) and click on Start to copy files. Make sure to add IUSR_XXXX to the folder security with full permissions
Step 2
1. Enter SQL server password for user sa and click on create database. 2. Go to Start > Program > eBanyan Electronic Commerce to Install SafileUp application 3. Install TCP/IP app 4. Install FedEx API
The Default SQL Server User ID is sa with no password. In case you changed or created another user ID and password in the SQL Server Enterprise Manager, you must use same user ID and password during eBanyan installation in step 2 above. Make sure that Authentication under Security in MS SQL is set to: SQL Server and Windows and the startup service account is set to System account.
Step 3 - Configuring Internet Information Services
1. Click on Start > Administrative Tools > Internet Services Manager. 2. Right click on server name and choose New > Web Site. Click on Next to continue. 3. Enter the description for the web site and click Next. 4. Enter/ choose the IP address for the web site and click Next. 5. Enter the home directory for the web site. It ‘s the same directory where you’ve installed site files 6. Set permissions in Home Directory of IIS Manager as both read and write 7. Enable parent path: open website properties in IIS > click on "Home Directory†tab > Click on application "Configuration" > click on "options" tab > check the box next to "enable parent path" > click OK or Apply.
Step 4 - Qlink for QuickBooks Integration – optional
1. Open QuickBooks 2002 or higher with Admin User account 2. Click on file to make sure that QuickBooks is running in Multi-User Mode 3. Go to Start > Programs > eBanyan Electronic Commerce > QuickBooks Link 4. QuickBooks Link starts in ready mode. Leave the QuickBooks running Step 5 - Starting e-banyan application
1. Go to http://YourDomainName/admin/register.asp and generate registration key for your site. Make sure to click on Reset button before generating registration key. After registration code is generated, e-mail the Name and Registration code to support@ebanyan.com to receive your registration key. Refresh page after entering registration key. See Trouble-shooting in case application gives any key error.
2. Open http://YourDomainName(or IP)/admin. Enter user name (admin) and password (admin) in the login window to go to the admin utility.
3. Follow the user’s guide to setup the site
Note: If you are IT hardware/ software reseller, you must register with Tech Data and Ingram Micro to use their catalog
How to set up separate Web and data SQL servers within same intranet? When you install eBanyan Application in the web server the data files are copied in Program Files/ eInstall directory In case you need to setup web server separate from the SQL database server, follow these steps
1. Copy the SQL data and log files - eBanyan, ingram, and techdata to the desired directory in SQL server. 2. From SQL Server Manager point and attach the databases eBanyan, ingram, and techdata. 3. Go to C:\www\admin\DLL folder and open ebanyan.ini file using notepad.
The ebanyan.ini file has following parameters: ebanyan04 Provider=SQLOLEDB; Data Source=localhost; Initial Catalog=ebanyan; User ID=sa; Password=;sa1234 Provider=SQLOLEDB; Data Source=localhost; Initial Catalog=ingram; User ID=sa; Password=;sa1234 Provider=SQLOLEDB; Data Source=localhost; Initial Catalog=techdata; User ID=sa; Password=;sa1234 qbCompanyFile=c:\www\a.qbw
Where: localhost is the database server name (eg dbserver) ebanyan, ingram, and techdata are databases with their respective user IDs and passwords
4. Change SQL server name by simply changing the Data Source name. Make sure that user ID and password for the databases (ebanyan. Ingram, techdata) matches with the user ID, and password in the security section of SQL Enterprise Manager and that users are given proper access to the databases.

Installing additional sites
1. Go to Start > Program > eBanyan Electronic Commerce > Click on Create New Site 2. Double click on the desired drive and create new site file directory 3. Input Site ID and site password (Use any ID/Password other than ebanyan/ebanyan04) 4. Click on Start to create site directory 5. Click on create database and open Instruction to follow procedure to create and copy a new database (use any name other than eBanyan) 6. Fill-in the database name and “sa†user password (same as site password in step 3 above. How to uninstall the application?
Note: Following procedure will remove ALL data and graphic files from your server. Make sure to backup your data using SQL Server Manager before deleting any data files. If you are unable to delete any of the folders, restart IIS and try removing folders again.
1. Stop SQL Server by right clicking on the icon on bottom left of your screen 2. Go to Start > Setting > Control Panel > Add/ Remove Programs and uninstall eBanyan application 3. Remove www folder from the drive 4. Remove einstall folder from Program Files folder

Step Four – Catalog Setup Manual/ automatic population of product information and graphics Domain name transfer Duration: Depends on number of products in format-ready database.
Note: The format-ready MS Excel file is located at www.yoursite.com/admin under Items > Import/ Export. The file will help you to plan and organize online product catalog. Contact eBanyan support for more information.
Trouble-shooting
Import – Export If you have difficulty exporting MS Excel or IIF files in Windows 2000, it is because the DCOM permissions are not set right. Read this Microsoft article on how to fix this issue http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;255502. If you are using Windows 2003, you need to add files extensions to MIME in Internet Information Manager. IIS only serves files with extensions registered in the MIME Type List. This list is located by accessing the properties in the IIS server.
Site Unregistered Error This type of error can happen either because:
1. Registration key has been changed or 2. MS SQL password is changed
Resetting registration key In case you have difficulty entering product key, follow these steps.
1. Open SQL Enterprise Manager 2. Go to Databases > ebanyan > tables 3. Find table name Preference > right click > open table > return all rows 4. Go to item strRegkey and strRegName and delete key values located in description column 5. Repeat the registration key steps
Resetting SQL password 1. Open SQL Server Manager and go to Security > login and double-click on “sa†2. Reset the password
If you forgot the password do following:
Open ebanyan.ini file. The ebanyan.ini file has following parameters: The SQL password in following sample file is: sa1234

How to increase session timeout Go to Internet Information Manager, right click on the site and go to properties. Increase the connection time out to a desired number
Can’t delete item in the admin utility even when item is not in order and special utility Open orderdetail table in SQL manager and delete the order related to that item.
The picture selection in detail page is not showing in item detail window In admin > View Item > Item # , Click on pic ID check box and save.
Can’t create SQL databases files in Step Two Go to program files > eInstall and delete eBanyan_log.LDF, ingram_log.LDF and techdata_log.LDF files Try step two again. This error is occurs when old left over log files from previous install.
Directory permissions issue 1. Right click on My Computer in desktop and click on Explore to open Windows Explorer. 2. Browse for the folder where you’ve installed the web files and look for the following directories that need special permissions. Right click on the selected directory and choose Properties. 3. Click on Security tab. Click once on Everyone, check the check box next to Full Control under allow column. 4. Click apply and OK to save the changes. 5. Repeat same steps for rest of the folder/ files listed bellow
a. Root/images/special b. Root/admin/temp c. Root/admin/ProductDescription d. Root/admin/tdo
PRB: Multiple "System Files Are Out of Date" Errors When you install a Microsoft Visual Basic application, you may receive the following message:
Setup cannot continue because some system files are out of date on your system. Click OK if you would like setup to update these files for you now. You will need to restart Windows before you can run setup again. Click cancel to exit setup without updating system files.
After Windows restarts and you begin the installation again, the error message appears again.
